Local

Check this section for ways to work with Council 1033 on common goals in our vicinity.

  • District Degree Team - we hope to improve logistics by forming a district-wide degree team with at least two Knights for each role. This should make it easier to practice, schedule, and perform degrees. The team will have substitutes available and have fewer cancellations, plus it will not need to rely on many different councils trying to coordinate their calendars. The team could choose dates that are convenient for all the members or pick a standing monthly date for simplicity. Degrees could also be made into a more social occasion with more candidates and councils participating at the same time, creating a better experience for everyone. Recruit members from your council today and contact the DD to show your support.
  • Websites - Council 1033 can help get your council on the web. For those councils without web experience, we hope to create a district website that has a page for each council to update with minimal effort. For councils wanting a richer web presence, we can help you achieve a more comprehensive website like this one.

  • Elizabeth Ministry - Respect for life and preserving families are original missions of the Knights of Columbus. This international ministry provides plentiful resources to help us pursue those missions, in addition to serving the broader public. Establish a chapter in your parish or acquire some of their excellent kits to have on hand for families in need.
  • Charity Referral Service - We are creating a service to help the general public locate and access resources and aid provided by appropriate charities and nonprofit institutions. Our goal is to collect in one place contact information and areas of specialization for reputable organizations, so anyone in need can use a single service to quickly discover help for a particular need.
  • Free Technology - Links to open source/no cost software, low cost services, tips and techniques, and examples of other councils' designs. Email us to add yours!
